I have come across a very unique W123 a 1979 wagon
The sum of options found on this wagon makes it so unique and it just may have stopped by AMG before arriving in North America.
The list of option begins with a very early tuned M117 5.0L engine, complete with AMG tubular steel headers and downpipes. A 4 speed automatic is installed, mated to a limited slip rear differential. Lastly, the stamped steal rear suspension made way for a cast aluminum anti-dive system.
The list of other options include:
Full AMG Body Kit
Recaro Ideal C seats
Sport Suspension
Euro bumpers
Euro headlights
Independent Transmission and Engine oil coolers
Any thoughts, feedback and insight is always appreciated. Thank you.

I suspect that there was alao some sort of installation manual for these motors as there were modifications needed to accommodate these within the w126 chassis. -

This is one of the more highly optioned w126 sedans out there and owned by an AMG enthusiast in the US.

What pistons did Brabus and AMG use for their 6.0L conversions? Rumor has it that Porsche 928 100mm pistons were used. -
Lots of valuable 300kph AMG speedo information here:

» Hallo Zusammen,

» gibt es Links oder Hinweise auf AMG-Version des 107er mit m117 ?

It is said that the m117 32v was too wide to fit between shock towers within the engine bay of the107. So, only SOHC 6.0 exist.
Here is a link to my 1982 500sl manual transmission AMG m117 5.0.

Yes I am familiar with Talbir and he has yet to reply. Jonathan Hodgman of BlueRidge MB has actually had a number of these and has been very helpful with information.

Thank you for your support, appreciation and links.
I am familiar with both of those websites. Unfortunately there are very few people that are intimately familiar with these old 4V motors. Even when I contacted AMG directly numerous times during the build, they finally replied after nearly a year to say that they no longer have any information on the old stuff and wished me luck. lol
There is a gentlemen here in the US that knows these quite well but information is still lacking at this time.
Look forward to further technical specifications on this old classic in due time. -

Thank you for the link. I am familiar with that site and have posted a number of questions and requests there. Unfortunately all of my postings are moved to the English Talk section and it seems there is very little traffic there.
As you can see:

Hello,
I have recently secured an almost complete AMG M117 5.0 DOHC 4V motor. I am missing the valves, valve springs, cups and retainers. Is anyone familiar with which pieces AMG used? Specifications? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
All the best,
Henric

The AMG M117 4V has only recently become a part of the project as it was secured separately. The original wide body rescued from Phoenix, AZ provided many valuable pieces and valuable information for my project and others.
Widebody Kit 13 pieces
AMG M117 5.4L SOHC motor
AMG/Gleason Torsen 3.06 Limited Slip Differential
and many spare parts.
