Thanks Sebastian! Are there any brochures from AMG (not AMG-Mercedes obviously as it was not official) for the 70/72/73?

Thnaks Sebastian, ok that makes sense, so the "73" was only available in the SL73, the S and CL had the "70" and later "72"

Do we know when this was changed from "70" to "72" then "73? Date wise?

Also, I see from this post the SL came in SL72 form too? http://www.nast-sonderfahrzeuge.de/MB-Exotenforum…y.php?id=106947

So there was SL70, SL72 and SL72. This seems odd when the S and CL didn\'t get upgraded!

The 72 engine is less well known, seems to be between the 70 and the 73, when did this fit in and what\'s the difference

Thanks Sebastian, The Red one and the cream one are the two I saw in the garage, they have the same owner!

The blue one in the link is the same externally but does not have the Carat interior of these two, it is a full Carat Cullinan inside the red and cream one!

The CTS run flat tyres are very cool!

In an underground car park on Sloane Avenue, Chelsea London there are THE most amazing cars (ONE-77 Aston, Porsche 959, veyron, R-R, 300SL Gullwing, GT2RS, Audi Sport quattro, every Lamborghini under the sun, Bentley, etc).

There is also 3 Armoured/Panzer Mercedes 500SEL\'s from the 1980\'s, all heavily custom and immaculately washed and stored, made by Carat Duchatelet. They are armoured and feature full dashboard and rear cabinets,etc, very smart paint and interiors, all cream leather by CD

The strangest thing about them is the the alloys and wheels, never seen anything like them!

They are Continental CTS-1 tyres/alloys.... size CT 225/40 R 475 102

Awful photos but I hope you get the idea, look at my fingers deep in the ridge (I have big hands) the wheel is very shallow, the tyre forms part of the wall!!

Weird, cant imagine why they did not catch on, v cool!

The Tyres are NOT wonky, thats my photos! opposite of wide rims, these are very narrow, with the tyre obviously having a hard wall!

I saw this Technics HIFI in a mercedes 500SEL in Japan, does anyone know much about Technics car audio, I did not know they made them?
